This is Ch. Chik T’Sun of Caversham, 1960 BIS Westminster Winner, the first Pekingese to achieve top dog.
This dog was so radically different from American bred Pekingese that Life Magazine did a story, complete with an X-Ray, to show the American public what exactly was lurking under that massive hair coat.
Giant head, Brachycephalic face, crooked front legs and a crooked spine make up a Westminster Champion. Nice job.
Thanks to Border Wars for digging up the picture.

Wow. That X-ray is really telling. I can’t believe that dog is a “winner.”

Wow – I’ve seen a lot of x-rays and I don’t think I’ve ever seen one this messed up looking…

Thank you for showing this. I have said for years all the kennel clubs are doing is promoting the breeding and selling of deformed dogs. The dogs are the ones who suffer in the end.
